New members often miss channels hidden behind roles or level gates. The Channels and Roles channel is the official picker for seeing everything available and customising your own access.
What you can do there
Browse the full channel list grouped by category. Toggle notification roles — gaming, events, debate, book club, and similar — so you only ping channels you care about. Pick level or interest roles that unlock the right parts of the sidebar.
When to use it
After joining, open Channels and Roles once before exploring randomly. Return when you level up or want event pings. If a channel looks locked, your roles may still need updating there.

Ask in report-help after checking the picker. Staff can point you to the right room faster when you say what you want to practise — text, voice, beginner, or a hobby topic.
