We are a learning server before anything else. The goal is friendly, active practice — reading, writing, speaking, and listening — without treating English like a test you can fail.
Chat channels
Rooms such as general and beginner-chat are for everyday reading and writing practice. Lurk until you are ready to type; short messages are fine.
Voice channels
Public voice is where speaking and listening happen in real time. You do not need perfect fluency to join — see our voice guides for technical help and conversation etiquette.
Interest channels
Gaming, creativity, art, and similar themed chats let you discuss hobbies in English. Shared enthusiasm keeps you talking longer.
Learning support
english-questions is for grammar and vocabulary help. resources collects useful links and materials shared by staff and members.
Classes and events
Free English classes and hosted sessions run on a schedule. Check the server Events tab or classes-announcements for times. Event hosts and teachers are volunteers listed in our host roles article.
