Using Discord

Control notifications and muting

Mute servers or channels, reduce @everyone pings, and stop notification overload.

You do not have to leave a server to escape notification fatigue. Discord lets you mute at several levels.

Right-click the server icon to Mute Server for a fixed period or until you turn it back on. Right-click an individual channel for Notification Settings — all messages, only @mentions, or nothing. Server-wide settings can suppress @everyone, @here, and role pings without hiding the channels themselves.

On mobile, long-press the server and adjust notifications there; push behaviour can differ from desktop. For The English Hub, many members mute noisy social channels but keep report-help or event channels on mentions-only so they still see what matters.
