You are not obliged to engage with everyone who contacts you. Blocking is a personal safety tool, not a moderation action.
Right-click someone's avatar or profile and choose Block. They cannot DM you, cannot see when you are online, and their messages in shared servers are hidden from you. You can unblock later under User Settings → Privacy & Safety → Blocked Users. On some mobile clients you can mute a DM conversation to stop notifications without blocking.
Blocking does not notify staff. If someone broke server rules or Discord's Terms, report them separately — to Discord for platform issues, or through report-help for The English Hub. Our guidelines prohibit unsolicited Nitro scams, service spam, and harassment in DMs; repeat offenders can be reported with screenshots and IDs.
Use block for your comfort. Use report when the behaviour needs an official response.
